MailWasher Pro - Kill spam before it reaches your inbox
We get a lot of email. Unfortunately, most of it is spam. We tried filters in Outlook and found that it was pretty effective, but we still had to download the whole email and wait for Outlook to do the filtering, then create new filters for the ones that slipped thru. Waiting to download and filter a hundred emails is just not acceptable. You can't send or even write an email while it's chugging away. I want to be able to use email when I'm ready to send something!
Filtering is a lousy solution for our clients, too. Adding a new filter to every pc on the network is time consuming and just not cost effective.
Simply put, the most effective way to keep email usable is to kill the spam before it reaches your inbox.
After researching various solutions, we decided that MailWasher Pro is the best fit, both on our network and for most of our clients. It's simple, effective, inexpensive and works with AOL, Yahoo, POP3, and many other mail services.
Here's how we use it; we choose one pc, typically a server or other machine that's on all the time, install the software and setup all the email accounts to be checked. You enter the user name and password and select a name for the account to identify it. Once that's done, you click the "check email" button and let it run.
MailWasher Pro works directly with your email server, exactly like your email program does, however, there is one important difference; MailWasher Pro retrieves only the "To", "From", "Date", "Subject", and first 20 lines of the email on the server. With that information, you can decide what to do with each individual email before you download it - delete it, train your filters, bounce it, add it to your friends list, or do nothing if it's one you want to check out.
After only a few days, you'll find that it catches the vast majority of spam and you'll be back in control of your inbox!
Simply put, MailWasher Pro is the best anti-spam software! It's so good that I'm betting it will become one of your "must have" applications!
